What is a CSA ?
CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. Members support the farm by buying their produce in advance, therefore helping us to cover the expense of growing our crops. In return you are guaranteed a share of our freshly harvested seasonal produce, picked within hours of your visit to the farm. This ensures that we can continue to offer our own community the freshest produce available while allowing you to know exactly where the food you eat comes from.
Why should I join a CSA?
Community… Be a part of what’s happening right here in your community! Support your local farms and see firsthand where your food comes from.
Health… Eating locally grown freshly harvested food is the basis of a healthy diet! Give yourself peace of mind knowing that you are eating the freshest foods possible,
harvested the day that you pick up.
Environment… because your food is not being shipped from another state or country, you are helping to lower our impact on the environment. According to the Us Census, only 1% of our population is actively farming, but keeping our environment healthy is everyone’s responsibility. By joining a CSA you know that you are doing your part to help.
Because it makes good financial sense!! A full share works out to less than $25.00 a week!!For that you get enough vegetables to feed a family of 4, for much less than you would spend in the grocery store.
Celebrate the seasons, bring your friends and families and join us! Share recipes, talk with us, learn and educate or ask us questions. Become a part of what you eat.
How does a CSA work?
Members sign up in advance and agree to pay a designated amount in return for a share of the weekly harvest during the picking season. This can vary from year to year. Members pick up their share at a designated site during the harvest season.
What do I get for my membership?
With your membership you are guaranteed the freshest seasonal produce available. Depending on your share size you will get whatever vegetables, herbs, and fresh cut flowers are currently available at the farm. Whatever wonderful things we harvest, you will take home with you.
In addition to our crops which have already been harvested, there will be pick your own opportunities as well as informative handouts, recipes, and useful ideas so that you can make the most of your weeks collection!
You will be able to fill your bag or bags every week with the wonderful assortment of the days harvested vegetables, herbs and flowers.
